Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market kicked off it’s 2019 season this past Saturday, June 1 with beautiful weather, produce to buy, and food trucks offering amazing food and beverages. It was a busy morning as the crowed quickly grew after a long wait for the season to begin. There were around 47 vendors at this market with new vendors making their first appearance and old ones coming back. LDFM is excited about the kick off to the 2019 season and anticipates a great year for the market.
Our collection of local agriculture producers such as vendors including Onion Shed Farms, E3 Farms. Wild Rabbit Farms,Vonnie’s Vegetables, Qual Creek Farms and more were selling fresh early season produce. Products in season that were offered by these vendors were Squash, Onions, Fresh Eggs, Micro Greens, Spring Mix, Spinach, Kale, Chard, Carrots and Mushrooms! Expect an even larger variety of local produce and food options as the season progresses and more produce is harvested. There were also favorites like jams, baked goods, and homemade artisan goods available at Saturday’s market.
This year LDFM is committed to grow the LDFM Food Truck Court so that guest at the market can taste local cuisine while shopping at the market! The Garden is gracious to open its doors for market goers to enjoy their food in their dining area as well as offer live accoustic music! There were prepared food offerings from our food truck court as well as plenty of cold and hot beverages from Gold Stripe Coffee, The Coffe Can and the Stand at Saturday’s market. LDFM looks forward to seeing new trucks and stands this year for market goers to enjoy this season.

Heidi, from the Tornado Gallery, was in Ireland on Saturday, so the June 1 Dog of the Day is Benson. He’s in Salthill Galway Ireland AND he is our Tornado Gallery ‘Dog of the Day!
