Market Review Sept. 5th
By Paul Bullock & Mary Gates
We opened the month of September with a beautiful morning. Our vendor count was about 14, and the set up went well. We began at 9:00 am, as always, and had a steady stream of customers right off the bat. The heat has been brutal, and has affected both our vendor and shopper numbers. But, hey, we have some very dedicated vendors who are here to bring you fresh produce and great handmade arts and crafts. Thank you to our very supportive shoppers who show up each and every week.
We took notice that we had quite Read More
Market Review Aug. 29th

And just like that, our August Markets are in the record book. With fourteen Markets finished we look forward to our sprint to the finish. We still have eight more Markets left through September and October. Our farmers are ready to see the weather cool a bit and perhaps get a little rain to help them finish their season strong.

Our Market is still bringing in some really great produce with lots of onions, tomatoes, squash, okra, potatoes, corn, eggplant, cantaloupe, and watermelon. There are also jams, Read More
Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market Review Aug 8th

We enjoyed yet another beautiful summer morning for our midway point of the Market. With 11 Markets under our belt, we now begin the downhill side. We look forward to serving our regular customers and making new friends as we prepare for the next 11 Saturday Markets.
We had our usual number of vendors, but we missed a few regulars due to their summer vacation time. However, we expect those vendors to be back with us as we move into week number 12.
The vacant spots were filled by Darcey with Gnarled Roots. She brought her handmade leather work and Read More
Market Review Aug. 1

Set up at the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market was a breeze….a cool breeze.
After the early morning rain we were treated to some lower temperatures and a nice soft breeze from the east. We had a small vendor count as some of our regulars were off on vacation. However, those of us who set up enjoyed a brisk sales day.
People from around the state showed up to see what we had to offer. Our guests included people from San Antonio, New Braunfels, DeLeon, Houston and somewhere out in East Texas. We even had a lady Read More
July 18th Market Review

I had several people comment on what a beautiful day it was, and I had to agree.
The morning started out very busy with shoppers showing up in good numbers. The old saying “The early bird catches the worm,” is so true when it comes to filling your shopping bag with great fresh farm produce. We had quite a few visitors from out of town, some coming back to Lubbock to live, others bringing their kids to Texas Tech sponsored camps. There were people from Sundown, San Angelo, Glen Rose, Temple, McKinney, and Dallas.
The shoppers continued Read More
July 11th Market Review

The overcast skies did not last long as we set up for the morning Market. The winds were calm and the heat set in quickly. Our customers showed up early, knowing another hot summer day was on it’s way. The LHUCA Plaza got busy as soon as we opened for business.
Many of our customers were from out of town. We welcomed our fellow Texans from Ft. Worth, Mabank, Crandall and Plainview. Our New Mexico neighbors were represented by folks from Lovington and Alamogordo. One of the best things about being a vendor is meeting and conversing Read More
July 4th 2026 Market Review

Wow! What a busy weekend it was as we celebrated 250 years of our country’s independence! First Friday Art Trail and Buffalo Springs Lake Fireworks started us off. Then on Saturday, The Fourth on Broadway Parade and Lubbock’s own Music and Fireworks Celebration. In between all this we were able to sneak in our Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market. We had vendors ready to sell, and customers ready to support us. It was warm right from the starting bell, but what do you expect…it’s July.

Market Review June 27th

Believe me when I tell you that there is nothing better than an overcast day in the summer while we vendors set up for the Market…and that is exactly what we had! The cloudiness seemed to be a calming factor. It lightened the physical load, and people’s spirits…so we started the Market feeling pretty good!
We first must give a big thanks to Chad Plunket and Charles Adams for coming to our aid. We set up in the CASP area which has become our second home whenever conflicting schedules might happen.

Market Review June 20th, 2026

The last day of spring presented us with a gorgeous morning for our Market. No relief from the heat, but beautiful blue skies as our vendors gathered in the LUHCA Plaza. I believe we had around 25 vendors for our Market.
The day was busy all around town with the Texas Tech Museum featuring the West Texas Wildlife Reserve, which brought 100’s of people in to see and experience just what an important job they do. The For The Kids benefit celebrated it’s 14th annual gathering of musicians, playing to raise funds and awareness for The Lubbock Read More
Market Review Oct. 18

Surprise, surprise! An unexpected rain greeted us for our final Market of the season…but fear not! Although the air and sidewalks were a little damp, our spirits were not. We set up across the street from our usual spot as the Hub City Renaissance Faire was happening in the Plaza.
So, first and foremost, a BIG thank you to Charles Adams Studio Project and Chad Plunket for always being there for us when we need an alternate spot. Chad and Charles have been so very supportive of our Market, and we certainly appreciate it!
