October 5th Market Review
It is finally starting to feel like fall here in Lubbock, making the market nice and cool for shopping! This week we had over 30 vendors ready to sell you their home grown or homemade items. This was the first market in October meaning we had the South Plains Humane Society with us! They had some of their lovely animals available for adoption as well as giving away microchipping!
With the Tech Football Team having a game at 11, we had a few tailgaters wandering around shopping for some veggies at the market, even one ambitious tailgater buying out a whole vegetable vendor’s stand! Even with the season coming to an end, we still have a good variety of produce available including but not limited to tomatoes (green and red), onions, bell peppers, okra, garlic, eggplant, black-eyed peas, cucumber, cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, beats, basil, mustard greens, kale, squash varieties and more!
We also have multiple protein sellers including our new vendor, LamTex selling lamp products. Other popular vendors include; Honey Hen Farms selling eggs and poultry, and Holy Cow & Diamond C Meats with a variety of beef, pork, and fish.
LDFM has more than just food, as we have lavender spa products, candles, balms, t-shirts, jewelry, and more. There are also vendors that sell dog treats, doggie bag holders, dog outfits, dog bandanas, shampoos, and paw balms! We are lucky enough to also have a great relationship with dogs here at LDFM, even having stands dedicated specifically for them offering treats and outfits! Many vendors provide water bowls to keep your furry friends well hydrated. Each week we take a photo of the Dog of The Day sponsored by The Tornado Gallery. This week’s Dog of the Day is Paco (photo coming soon).
