The Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market, the original and still the best market for locally grown produce! Visit the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market Saturday, September at 19th and Buddy Holly Ave from 9:00AM to 1:00PM for a taste of downtown Lubbock, and the finest in local produce, meat, baked goods and arts. We are a kid friendly, dog friendly, family event in the heart of the Depot District. Our 2021 market season will be held every Saturday morning through October 16th.
Note the market will have an altered foot print for this market. The Blue Light Live will be setting up a large stage North of 18th Street for a fabulous street party next weekend. To accommodate the stage occupying where many of our vendors normally set up, we will bend the market East on 18th Street towards Cricket Avenue. A map of the temporary market foot print follows
August 28th Market Review
The market reviews by Paul Bullock and Mary Gates will resume next week. Paul and Mary had a booth at the Lubbock Live Arts Festival on Saturday. They had a great day selling Paul’s children books, ball caps, t-shirts and other new merchandise. Paul also debuted his new children’s book “Skinny Katie and her Potbelly Pig Named Sadie”. Be sure to visit Paul’s booth next week at the market and check out his new book!
We had a great market on the last Saturday in August and we are looking forward to the remaining 7 markets in the 2021 season. We had 51 vendors selling local fresh produce, fresh baked goods, and creative products from local artisans. Our produce farmers still have plenty of summers crops available, such as black-eyed peas, vine-ripened tomatoes and fresh cantaloupe and water melons. In a few weeks we will start to see some Fall products coming in like fresh pumpkins.
The market had a lot of happy shoppers and many brought their four-legged family members. Today’s Industrial/Arts Dog of the Day was Mustang! Good boy, Mustang!
