June the 5th Farmers Market was another sunny day in Lubbock, Texas. In 2014 the Lubbock Downtown Farmer’s Market took over where the Lubbock Downtown Art Market left off. Love, labor and commitment 
have made this event grow in size and popularity year after year.
Its so invigorating to stroll down Buddy Holly Ave. on a beautiful cool Saturday morning! The public is always greeted by a smiling helpful staff, and the vendors who are ready and eager to show their wares. The artists, farmers, craftspeople and food vendors look forward to these face to face interactions with those who come out to support this weekly event. There is an exchange of information between the vendors and public as they discuss the wares at each individual booth.
The Market has over 40 vendors with a great variety of products to show and sell. Beautiful Butcher Blocks and quality beef are available. Fresh baked breads and sweet rolls. Art ready to hang on your walls or art kits to help keep summer fun for the artists in your family.
How about local pickled okra and cucumbers? Or fresh deep fried pork rinds? Or how about you come down to Buddy Holly Ave. and see the bounty of crafts, gardening goods, fresh produce, food trucks and friends old and new. And don’t forget the dogs! Part of the fun is to see, and interact with all the pet owners who love to bring their dogs along for the morning outing. Water and dog treats are provided for the furry friends.
As the summer progresses I hope to bring close up looks at some of our vendors and encourage you, the good people of Lubbock and the surrounding area, to make the trip to Buddy Holly Ave. and meet the vendors that are
once again happy to serve you at The Lubbock Downtown Farmer’s Market. It happens every Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come early while the streets are cool!
