July 11th Market Review
Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market had its seventh market in the 2020 season this past Saturday, July 11th with lots of fresh local produce to buy, and food trucks offering amazing food and beverages. The weather was hot on Saturday as is typical in Lubbock during July. The market provided free cold water and had a hand-held mister to help shoppers cool off. There were around 35
vendors at this market with new vendors making their first appearance and old ones coming back.

Because of the current COVID-19 conditions, LDFM has set up sanitizing stations, given guidelines to navigate the market at safe distances, all vendors now wear masks and we encourage our guests and vendors to stay home if they feel they may have symptoms. We are excited for the 2020 LDFM season, as are the vendors! We have many vendors returning, as well as many new ones. Some of our vendors have expanded what they are offering as well.
As we are getting deeper into the growing season more and more produce is coming in. Our vendors have squashes, melons, root veggies, Spinach, Spring Mix, Arugula, Baby Kale, Dill, Parsley, Rosemary, Mint, Rainbow Mix, Radish Shoots, Micro Cilantro, Sunflower Shoots, Fava Bean Shoots, Pea Shoots, Green Onions, Green Garlic, Fresh Shallots, Garlic Scapes, Radishes, Mushrooms and more. There are even some frozen black eyed peas and fresh melons appearing at the market. More
of our vendors are now bringing a wide variety of fresh tomatoes to the market! The further into the season we get, the more vendors will have!

More sweets are available as well like macaroons and fried pies and new bakers will be coming in future markets. One of our more popular bakers, Beni Vegan, Organic Bakery had Bread, Sweet Rolls, Stuffed Buns, Cookies, Coffee Cake, Muffins and more creative baked products!
LDFM loves arts & crafts, and we have some great vendors who do as well. We several popular jewelry and creative art vendors at Saturday’s market.
The Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market provides a family friendly environment and offers a safe, exciting atmosphere in downtown Lubbock. We are also very dog friendly for our well-behaved, leashed four-legged visitors. Many of our vendors provide dog bowls to keep your fur babies well hydrated. Congratulations to Dixie! (pictured below). She is our Tornado Industrial/Arts ‘Dog of the Day!’ She received a bandana from Tornado Industrial Arts and a gift package from Sweet Pup Treats. The DOTD is selected at random every Saturday during the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market!
