THIS WEEK’S MARKET
NEW LOCATION 5th STREET & AVE J
Visit the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market this Saturday July 29th from 9:00 Am to 1:00 PM at 5th Street & Ave. J.
After 14 years located in the Depot District, the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market has moved to the Downtown Arts District! This season the market is located in the Plaza behind the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts at 5th Street & Avenue J.
We are expecting a large number of vendors and food trucks this Saturday. As the season progresses expect a larger selection of vegetables fruits from our local farmers.
Kid’s Corner
We will be having a scavenger hunt for the kids ages 5-12ish. During the hunt they will be looking for a variety of items, flowers, fruit, vegetables, pastries, crafts, etc. at vendors booths. For completing their scavenger card, they will receive a small goodie bag. One of the goodies will be a $2.00 Kid’s Market Cash voucher (first 50 kids). The kids could then use it to buy something at the market. This voucher will be valid for July 29th only. Bring your Kid’s to this week’s market for a Fun Saturday Morning CHILDREN’S Event!
Caprock Beekeepers Association
The Caprock Beekeepers Association will be educating the public about the importance of the honey bee to agriculture and the bee life cycle. They will provide free educational materials from the National Honey Board in fun worksheets for kids and delicious honey recipes for all ages. They will be signing up new “Beekeeping for Beginner” classes to encourage new beekeepers across the region.
They will also have pure raw unfiltered summer dandelion and sunflower honey to show the different types of honey one single hive can make within weeks of a nectar flow change.
